Policies and Procedures

policy1There are effective policies and procedures in place which follow the statutory requirements, quality standards and regulations set out by Ofsted. The senior management team and members of staff actively contribute to the preparation and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures, which ensure children are properly safeguarded. The Registered Manager along with members of staff are encouraged to take ownership of the policies, reviewing them in the monthly staff meetings. There is a named person for Safeguarding and a deputy and relevant policies are in place. Staff also undertake safeguarding training as part of their

induction and this is updated annually.

In addition, Mitchley House will carry out regular risk assessments for all areas of the premises and for any outings. Comprehensive information about all the policies and procedures that are in place are shared with Ofsted and stakeholders.

All of the policies and procedures have regard to the children's homes quality standards and regulations and relevant legislation to ensure all safeguarding and welfare requirements as well as other legal requirements such as employment, data protection and health and safety laws.
